Spyderco Facts Spyderco introduced its CLIPIT Worker in 1981, marking the first in a series of Spyderco designs with original features that have since become industry standards. This model was the first production knife to feature the Spyderco Trademark Round Hole for one-hand opening, the clothing clip and right- and left -hand versions. The revolution continued in 1982 with Spyderco's second production knife, the CLIPIT Mariner, the world's first successful serrated folding knife. In 1990 the lightweight Zytel handled Endura and Delica were released, bringing the Spyderco Trademark Round Hole and clothing clip to lightweight folding knives. Perhaps best known for their SpyderEdge serrated blades, Spyderco also produces a large variety of straight edge blades as well. Spyderco produces sharpeners for serrated knives as well. From the start the knives had the Spyderco trademarked Round Hole and clothing clips. Spyderco was the first to put clothing clips on their knives, now an industry standard.
